How to fake the fluffy brow look

How to fake the fluffy brow look

written bySima Ahmed

We hope that the 90's thin eyebrow style will never make a return. Since we are all in for the fluffy, feathered, or bold eyebrow look. By now, you have probably seen the fluffy eyebrow trend on social media or on the streets. In this blog, we’re going to talk about the fluffy eyebrow trends in 2021 and how you can create your own fluffy brows.

Eyebrow trend of 2021

We have seen that the definition of beautiful brows has shifted immensely from thin, perfectly shaped and arched brows to a more natural, wild, bold full brow in 2019. Due to the coronavirus, most beauty salons were closed. As a result, many people had to deal with wilder, unshaped eyebrows for a long time. Now that most countries are out of lockdowns and salons are open again. You see that people are still going for a more natural brow look and are embracing this bolder look.

Fluffy but clean eyebrows

In 2021 the eyebrows are still full and fluffy. The eyebrow hairs are still brushed up. However, the underline of the eyebrows looks tight and clean. This gives you a fluffy effect without making your brows look messy. In the picture below you can see Cara Delevingne rocking the eyebrow trend during the Dior Couture Fall show 2021.

The fluffy eyebrow trend doesn't always have to lead to extreme eyebrows. It can also look very natural and subtle. Tina Kunakey shows us in the picture below how beautiful and natural fluffy brows can be.

How to create your own fluffy brows

Do you want to be a part of the fluffy, full brow community but don’t know where to start or if you’re not sure if you want to do the brow lamination treatment? Here are some of our favorite full brow necessities you can try:

Brow Soap

The brow soap is actually a very old trick that ensures your eyebrow hairs stay up nicely. What do you need: a soap block with glycerin, a spooling and fixing spray, or plain water. If you use fixing spray, spray 1 time from a 30 cm distance on the soap block. When using water, moisten your spoolie. Make sure your spoolie is not too wet otherwise the soap may foam. Swipe the spoolie over the bar of soap a few times and brush your brows straight up into the desired position. Tip: if you use brow makeup, do so before using brow soap. The soap texture will keep your brows firmly in place and looking groomed and fluffy for seemingly hours.
Do you prefer a ready-to-use product that's easier to take with you? Below you can find a list of our favorite eyebrow soaps:

  1. Perfection Elements Brow Soap.
  2. West Barn co. Soap Brows.

Brow gel

For women and men among us who deal with stiff, thick, and stubborn eyebrow hairs on a daily basis. It can sometimes be difficult to keep the eyebrow hairs straight with an eyebrow soap. That's why I recommend using an eyebrow gel for stiff hairs. An eyebrow gel has a stronger texture than a brow soap. Also, a brow gel is suitable for people who do not have thick hair or who do not like eyebrow soap. With the eyebrow gel, you can easily brush your eyebrows upwards until you have created the desired shape. Below is a list of our favorite eyebrow gels:

  1. Revitalash Brow Gel

  2. Benefit Gimme Brows

Brow wax

Eyebrow wax is essentially the same concept as brow soap. However, brow wax has a waxier texture, which means that the wax is a stronger product. Ideal to use on thick and stiff eyebrow hairs. The instructions are the same as for the brow soap: dampen the spoolie a little (optional, not necessary), brush over the wax a few times and then comb over your brow hairs with straight, angled strokes. Tip: if you use brow makeup, do so before using brow wax. The wax texture will keep your brows firmly in place and looking groomed and fluffy for seemingly hours. Below is a list of our favorite eyebrow wax:

  1. Iconic London Brow Silk
  2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze

Our favorite treatment for fluffy brows: Brow Glaze / Brow lamination

For the ones who don't feel like styling their eyebrows with makeup every day but would rather just wake up with good eyebrows. We heard you! Our Brow and Lash Glaze lamination kit is a perfect solution for brow bosses who are looking for a way to tame, style and thicken up their brows for a longer period of time. Brow lamination follows a similar concept to a lash lift. Brow Lamination allows you to restructure the eyebrow hairs to create the desired shape. Using a chemical solution, the eyebrow hairs are straightened in one direction. This gives you the look of symmetry, fullness, and definition. With our Brow Glaze kit, you can achieve this look in an easy-to-use 3 solution process. It is a semi-permanent treatment that lasts up to 4-8 weeks.

I know what you're thinking guys. How ideal would the Brow Glaze be when you're traveling or when you don't have much time in the morning to get ready. All you have to do after getting laminated brows is brushing your eyebrow hairs up in the morning and you’re ready to rock your fluffy eyebrows.

Second favorite: Feather brow technique with Brow Henna

Good news for those who have sparse and thin eyebrow hairs but desire fluffy brows. With the new feather brow technique, extra hairs are temporarily created on the skin with Brow Henna. How does it work? Your brow specialist will apply the henna as usual and then brushes the eyebrow hairs up with a spoolie to ensure that you also "fake henna hairs" on the skin above the eyebrows. You can combine the brow lamination with the henna treatment but, make sure you keep at least 4 weeks between both treatments, since you don’t want to over process your brow hairs.
