What is SNAP?

Before we dive into the specific mistakes, let’s quickly go over what makes SNAP so special.

This PPD-free brow tint is everything Brow Artists like you have been asking for: no PPD, no peroxide, no mixing. Just shake it, apply it, and let it do its thing. It’s fast, easy, and made for all clients - even for the sensitive ones.

And that’s the best part: SNAP is your Plan B for those clients with sensitive skin or allergies. You know the ones who’ve had a reaction before? You’ll want this in your kit. Because with no harsh ingredients, it’s a safer option that still delivers that freshly tinted look your clients love.

So even if you’re loyal to your usual tints, having SNAP on hand means you're ready for anyone who walks through your door. And that means that you can get many more new clients.

How to apply SNAP

We created a quick video tutorial to help you get started before the full course drops, because we know you’re eager to master SNAP! But don’t worry, working with our new PPD-Free Brow Tint is easier than you think.

Here’s why we love working with SNAP Gel Tint (it’s truly beginner-friendly):

  • No mixing needed - Just shake the bottle (real good) and apply. That’s it.

  • Fast absorbing formula - SNAP absorbs into the skin in seconds, it’s the fastest Brow Tint out there. That’s why we call it SNAP!

  • No removal required - Once applied, there’s no need to wipe it off. Let it absorb, and you’re done. You can remove the tint after a few seconds for a more natural stain.

Mistake #1: “Why is my stain not even?”

If your SNAP stain turns out crumbly, patchy, or uneven, don’t worry - you’re not the only one. One of the most common issues we see is applying the product the way you would with regular dye.

Here’s the thing: SNAP Brow Gel Tint is different. It’s a PPD-free brow tint that needs to be brushed on smoothly, not stamped like you would do with other dyes. When you stamp, the product sits too heavily on the skin and can’t fully absorb - this leads to that flaky, uneven finish.

Another issue? Using too much product. A thick layer may feel like a good idea, but SNAP works best in a thin, even layer. Less is more here. You want to create a smooth surface that allows the fast-absorbing formula to do its job. So if you see your tint piling up, make sure to smooth it out evenly with soft brushing movements.

Pro tip: Always brush the product into the skin with light, even strokes and make sure to grab a Spoolie Brush. Use it to gently blend or brush through after application for a more natural finish and better stain payoff.

Mistake #2: “Why don’t I get sharp lines?”

Getting blurred or uneven edges with SNAP? The solution is all in the preparation.

Because SNAP Brow Gel Tint absorbs in seconds, it behaves very differently from traditional brow dyes. There’s no waiting around for it to develop - so if you’re not precise from the start, you’ll see it. Fast.

That’s why Brow Mapping is key. Applying a clean outline with Brow Mapping Paste gives you control, structure, and a guide for creating those sharp, defined lines. It also prevents the tint from staining outside the intended shape - especially important with a fast-developing, PPD-free brow tint like SNAP.

Mistake #3: “How to pick the right shade?”

Choosing the right color with SNAP Brow Gel Tint can feel tricky at first - especially if you're used to matching brow tints to your client’s hair color. But here’s the thing: SNAP doesn’t stain the brow hairs, it only stains the skin. That means the brow hairs won’t hold color, so matching the hair is no longer the priority.

Instead, always match the Brow Gel Tint to the client’s natural brow color - this helps the stain blend seamlessly into their existing brow hairs, creating a fuller but natural look. Matching the wrong thing (like scalp hair or bleached ends) can leave the stain looking off, either too warm or too bold.

Pro tip: Since SNAP is PPD-free and peroxide-free, the shades lean slightly warm - that’s just the nature of the ingredients that make it possible to stain the skin (like iron oxides). If your client has cool-toned skin, ash blonde, or platinum hair, reach for Medium Brown or Dark Brown - they contain less warmth and will give a softer, more neutral finish.

Why you need SNAP in your salon

Even if you already have your go-to fav products like Liquid Dye or Brow Henna, SNAP Gel Tint deserves a spot in every Brow Artist’s kit - and here’s why.

Because you never know who’s walking through the door. A new client with sensitive skin, someone with a past PPD allergy, or a first-timer who’s simply nervous about harsh ingredients - SNAP is your Plan B (so you don’t have to send them home). And the good thing, since its not staining the hairs, your client’s can walk in more often to do a touch up.

With no PPD, no peroxide, and no mixing, SNAP is the most skin-friendly and easy-to-use option on the market. It’s fast, clean, and designed for that natural, skin-stained finish your clients are asking for.

FAQ

Do I still have to patch test SNAP?

Yes! Even though SNAP Gel Tint is PPD-free, it’s still a cosmetic product applied to the skin. Always perform a patch test before the treatment - especially for first-time clients or those with sensitive skin. Although an allergy is not common for this product, better safe than sorry.

Why is SNAP safer than other brow dyes?

SNAP is free from PPD, peroxide, ammonia, and other harsh chemicals that are commonly found in traditional tints. It’s a non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free formula, making it ideal for sensitive or allergy-prone clients who can’t tolerate standard dye.

Why should I get SNAP if I already use henna?

Great question. Henna is amazing, but it oxidizes slowly, requires more steps, and still contains PPD. SNAP is your quicker, safer Plan B - ideal for express services, clients who can’t tolerate PPD or other chemicals.

What is PPD?

PPD (paraphenylenediamine) is a chemical commonly used in traditional hair and brow dyes to create long-lasting color and ensure it attaches to the hair and skin. The problem? It’s a known allergen and can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions - especially in clients with sensitive skin. That’s why a PPD-free brow tint like SNAP is such a game-changer.

What does “no mixing” mean?

With SNAP, there’s no developer or activator needed. Just shake the bottle and apply directly to the skin. It’s perfect for on-the-go treatments or Brow Artists who want to simplify their routine without compromising on results. Do you want to mix colors to create a different color? That’s of course possible!
